From the first and largest commercial drydock on the West Coast to a critical ship repaint and overhaul site for the Navy during wartime, DECOMMISSIONED traces the extraordinary yet often overlooked history of Hunters Point Shipyard.
Curated by longtime shipyard artist and historian Stacey Carter, the exhibition brings together original artwork, rare photographs, artifacts, oral histories, archival film, and an immersive soundscape to tell the full story of this iconic San Francisco site.
