Best selling author Dennis McNally, author of the seminal history of the Grateful Dead, A Long Strange Trip, publicist for the Dead, and author of several other books on the counterculture provides some answers in his newest book, The Last Great Dream: How Bohemians Became Hippies and Created the Sixties.
