Andrea Schwartz Gallery is pleased to announce the second solo exhibition with Elaine Coombs.
“Mesmerized by cloud patterns and the colors of golden hour, I seek to create a peaceful emotional space.” – Elaine Coombs
Elaine Coombs’ work focuses on creating a calm and reflective space through paintings inspired by the natural world. In 2020, her practice shifted from landscapes to the sky, drawing from cloud formations and the soft light of golden hour. Nature serves as a place of spiritual grounding for the artist, and her paintings aim to capture a sense of clarity, ease, and quiet presence.
Her process combines metallic acrylic backgrounds in silvery pearl, gold, and blue with carefully applied palette-knife marks that suggest clouds and movement. The balance of light, texture, and open space gives the work a simple, atmospheric quality, offering viewers a moment of rest and contemplation.
