Festival of Gentleness

  • Fig Leaf Gardens 4046 39th Avenue Oakland, CA, 94619 United States (map)

Friends, it’s true: the time to celebrate life’s sweetness is now! Join us Sunday, March 15th for the Festival of Gentleness. We gather to eat good food, hum and dance to beautiful music, feel transformed by handcrafted art, and joyfully listen to some of our favorite local poets. Bring a friend, meet your neighbors, and come enjoy the flowers as we call in the Spring.

Picture the fig tree leaning over the garden. Friends pepper the grass’s slope, weaving in and out of the vegetable beds, saying hey to the chickens, acknowledging the bees. Poems and music lilt in the air, tending to our hearts. You’re right at home in the Festival of Gentleness.

Artists will show their textiles (wearable and home goods), zines, paintings, and more!

Dos Raîcez will share their delicious tacos. Poets split a precious hour, then incredible live music performances from Tierra Suelta, Giulia, and Seraphina Perkins in the golden hour before sunset.

Come as you are, leave feeling loved. 💜
