March 4 - April 25
Locomotion of Light & Time, will be a solo show of cameraless photography by Bay Area artist Moira McDonald. It would not be an exaggeration to say that the work in this show represents the purest form of photography with light, time, and mark-making. McDonald writes:
“These cameraless photographs are extended & direct exposures of days to months within the elements. Uniquely marked by timed experiences together, each composition is made by inviting and then capturing the locomotion of its own slow-moving image. These are photographs of long deep breaths, of atmospheric shifts, of tropospheric drifts. Pictures of foggy summer mornings, autumnal afternoons, the cold short days of winter & everything in between; though no details would hold beyond the light that had been seen.”
Locomotion of Light & Time will be ON VIEW from March 4 to April 25, 2026. Please join us for the OPENING RECEPTION on Saturday, March 7, 2026, from 2 - 5 pm and ARTIST TALK on Saturday, April 4, 2026, from 3 - 4 pm. The talk will be moderated by Allison Railo, Curator at New Museum Los Gatos.
