PATRICIA PICCININI: Centrifugal Love Landscape

  • Hosfelt Gallery 260 Utah Street San Francisco, California, 94103 United States (map)

Hair has always been prominent in Patricia Piccinini's practice, both materially and conceptually. A signifier of mammalhood, its presence (or absence) can also represent either femininity or masculinity, depending on its relationship to the body.

The prelude to this presentation, a series of new ink and gouache drawings of hair (amongst other things), will only just begin to prepare you for the fantastically joyful kinetic installation at the heart of her exhibition.

Hosfelt Gallery will be closed from August 18th through September 7th. We will reopen on September 8th with two solo exhibitions — Stefan Kürten: Echoes from the Past and Sarah Newton: Bay Trail Interruptions.
