  • ICA San Francisco 345 Montgomery Street San Francisco, CA, 94104 United States (map)

A HAPPENING, AN ACTION:
12 - 4 PM

In partnership with host venue ICA San Francisco, Swap Circle, Reuse Alliance, Sustainable Fashion Alliance, and Mushi Wooseong James

About the Community Clothing Swap

Join ICA SF and SWAP CIRCLE, in partnership with Micki Meng & Mushi Wooseong James, for a downtown day of shared community, creative exchange and joy! Reuse Alliance will be hosting our Midnight March Mending Bar, featuring Masako Miki inspired mending techniques.

This isn’t just a clothing swap. It's an invitation to slow down, rethink how we consume, and build something more generous together. One garment at a time.

How It Works & What to Bring

Bring up to 20 clothing or accessory items you know someone else would love, choosing things you would proudly give a good friend. You will receive tokens for your items, bring up to 20 items. You will use these tokens to then "shop" during the event.

Accepted Items

  • Clothing — items should be for adults (all genders) and clean; please do not bring socks or undergarments, swimsuits, lingerie or children’s clothing

  • Accessories — includes purses, belts, sunglasses, scarves (please do not bring jewelry)

Drop Off & Shop

We encourage participants to drop-off items in advance* at ICA SF’s front desk during museum hours (11am-5:00pm) from Wednesday, July 30th to Saturday, August 2nd. When you drop off your items, you will receive tokens that will allow you to then “shop” the event on Sunday, August 3 from 12-4:00pm. You can also bring your items the day of the event beginning at 11am.

If you brought items in advance and have tokens, please proceed into the event and enjoy perusing items! Each token indicates the number of items that you can bring home with you.

If you are bringing items day-of, please go to the Drop-Off Table to collect your tokens and receive instructions on where to display your items.

SWAP CIRCLE stylists will be on-hand during the event to help you put together outfits or find that perfect item you’ve been searching for. This is a free, optional service.

There will be several private and semi-private changing areas.

Please bring an empty reusable bag to carry your swap items home.

* For advance drop offs, there is a loading zone from 11am-3pm directly in front of the museum to allow for a swift drop off. If would like to stay longer and visit the museum, there is paid parking available in the 555 California Street parking lot, or elsewhere in the neighborhood.
