Solo Exhibition "the things we hold, the things we carry" by artist Catherine Lipsetz Dauer at Birdhouse Gallery in San Francisco

November 7-December 6, 2025
Opening Reception — November 7, 2025, 4:00-7:00 PM

Birdhouse Gallery is pleased to present “the things we hold, the things we carry”, a solo exhibition of new work by San Francisco artist Catherine Lipsetz Dauer that expands her ongoing exploration of time’s marks, pace and passage through reflections on the sentimentality, attachments and misconceptions that result from collecting and keeping objects over long periods. The exhibition features a group of large-scale paintings inspired by looking deeply at the beauty and mystery of a singular, treasured object from the artist’s personal collection.

Program — "A Sonic Response to the Exhibition”, November 19 at 7:00 PM: The artist is hosting a live experimental music performance by Eagle Friend Radio [Lenny Gonzalez solo] composed in response to the work on view. About Lenny Gonzalez: Lenny Gonzalez explores acoustic and electronic sound in solo performance as well as in frequent collaboration with other Bay Area musicians and ensembles. @millenyem

She earned her BA in Art History from University of Cincinnati and studied Interdisciplinary Studio Art at San Francisco Art Institute. In 2024 she co-founded Sounding Board Collective, a group of female artists based in the San Francisco Bay Area who share and explore the intellectual life of contemporary art practice.
