August 2 – October 4, 2025
Tuesday – Saturday, 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Free

“Far Out: Northern California Art from the di Rosa Collection”—the inaugural exhibition for di Rosa San Francisco, on view through October 4.

Bringing together historical and contemporary works from the expansive di Rosa collection, the exhibition highlights how Bay Area artists push the edge of the mainstream art world, innovating, challenging, and moving culture forward from the fringes.

The exhibition presents three thematic approaches to the work on view: Material Expression, Tricksters, Scavengers, and Scamps, and Piracy and Protest, featuring 32 artists, including Joan Brown, Jay DeFeo, Manuel Neri, Enrique Chagoya, and William T. Wiley.

This exhibition was co-curated by Kate Eilertsen and Twyla Ruby.

Thing Two: “Black Eyes on Black Art” Panel Discussion

Poster for Black Eyes on Black Art Panel Discussion

August 21, 2025
6-7:30 pm

“Black Eyes On Black Art,” is an open-ended conversation, investigating the importance of Black people witnessing and creating Black art during times of uncertainty and conflict.

The goal is to recognize the power of how Black people, and Black artists, navigate times of uncertainty and conflict by leaning into the spiritual, literary, political, artistic, and ancestral practices. Considering the current amnesia surrounding the artistic and empowered Black history of the Tenderloin, we are hosting this topical conversation to both acknowledge and bridge the gap between the past and the present.

Please join us and witness this conversation amongst two members of TLM’s Shaping Legacy Artist Circle–artist Ramekon O’Arwisters and community advocate and facilitator Mattie Loyce–with gallery owner and artpothecarist at tendesf.com, writer and Glide Memorial Church’s Minister of Celebration Marvin K. White, visual artist Cheryl Derricotte, and curator and artist historian Key Jo Lee of MoAD.

THINGS THREE: I Saw, but I Did Not See: Winston Smith

Poster for Winston Smith show at 111 Minna Gallery

August 21 @ 5:00 pm - 10:00 pm

111 Minna Gallery and Studio Fallout are proud to present I Saw but I Did Not See, the first San Francisco solo exhibition by legendary collage artist Winston Smith since 2023.

Originally planned for North Beach, the show has been reimagined as a pop-up exhibition at 111 Minna—an exciting one-night-only event where all artworks will be sold directly off the walls.

This is a make-up show following the postponement of Winston’s previous exhibition due to a sudden heart attack. Now recovered and creatively recharged, Winston has returned to the blade with his signature urgency, producing an entirely new body of work.

I Saw but I Did Not See draws deeply from the chaos of current events, showcasing a powerful mix of all-new pieces and classic works from the archives. Some are searing and prophetic; others lean toward the playful and reflective—but all are unmistakably Winston.

From Renaissance to Dada, Winston’s visual language invites viewers into a psychic journey through the absurd, the unjust, and the beautifully surreal.

The exhibition begins at 5 PM, with Punk Rock Karaoke at 6 PM, and goes until 10 pm. 21+

This is a rare opportunity to experience—and take home—original works by one of punk’s most iconic and enduring visual voices.

“I’m looking forward to debuting this exhibition,” says Winston Smith, Creative Director at Studio Fallout. “We’ll be showcasing new originals as well as some of my favorite classic compositions from the past, complemented by some whimsical, thought-provoking pieces to soften the blow. Hope you can make the scene!”
